General Requirements

Admission to the Real Estate program requires candidates to be a high school graduate or have a General Education Development (GED) certificate. Entering students are also required to interview with an admissions representative and complete the NBC placement test as part of the admissions process.

Course Offerings and Degree Requirements

Students fulfilling degree requirements for an Associate in Applied Science degree in Real Estate must complete a curriculum that provides an understanding of the skills necessary for identifying and emphasizing a property's most pertinent selling points, obtaining real estate listings, and successfully completing an exam to earn a license as a real estate salesperson or broker. Please note that the order in which these courses are completed will be determined by the age of the student upon entry into the program, in accordance with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation’s (IDFPR) requirements regarding real estate sales agent and real estate broker licensing eligibility. Below is a list of the required coursework, not including 34 additional General Education credit hours.
