Medical Assisting

General Requirements

Admission to the Medical Assisting program requires candidates to be a high school graduate or have a General Educational Development (GED) certificate. Entering students are also required to interview with an admissions representative and complete the NBC placement test as part of the admissions process. The Medical Assisting program also requires candidates to have a physical examination and current immunizations by week five of the first quarter of enrollment.

Course Offerings and Degree Requirements

Students fulfilling degree requirements for an Associate in Applied Science degree in Medical Assisting must complete a curriculum that qualifies them to prepare patients for examination, assist with examinations, perform routine office laboratory procedures, handle administrative functions, and assume office responsibilities.
